It has been a long few weeks, as work has been taking most of my time. I am pumped up to do a show tonight. We haven't had a show in a couple weeks, due to Easter, and other things. D&D first week

Here are my impressions of the first week of the D&D show, as a long time fan (since the very first day) I will have to say that I think the show is doing great for the first week at a new company, new management, not being on for a year. There have been a lot of complaints I have seen on message boards about the new format. I.E. the music at 9am, all the interviews. Here is what I have to say about that. What us regular listeners have to understand, and this is even hard for me, is that they have a whole new audience they have to catch, this isn't just us long time fans listening here. I have restrained myself a couple of times from wanting to call in on topics. The new listeners have no idea who I am, or Pat, or Jay. I would rather give it time for the new listeners to adjust to the show than to make them feel that if you weren't an old listener, then you aren't welcome. Trust me I will be calling in at somepoint, but let them settle in to the new home. I just wanted to say great job guys, and glad you are back on the air.

Well after that last action packed show. Where we talked with Josh "Ponceman" Perry, Greg with Mediocre films, and Josh's brother Scott. I wanted to thank them for staying on longer than they planned. I could have talked to them for hours. I really was starstruck, and that's not a lie. Even though Greg logged in and asked his own questions to himself (which by the way was funny to me) I hope to have them on again. I also want to thank Jeff Deminski for calling in FINALLY to the S&M show, as we will welcome the D&D show back on the airwaves in the Motor City on 94.7 WCSX January 5th, 2009 at 6am. Congratulations to Lake Orion!!

Lake Orion finally made it over the hump last weekend by beating a MAC red team to make it to the State Semi finals in Division 1. In one of the craziest games I ever witnessed, high school, college, pro, the Dragons were up 35-7 with under 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, they gave up the lead as Sterling Heights Stevenson scored 29 straight points...but SHS left too much time on the clock. As Jeff Heath kicks a 49 yd fieldgoal(actually it was 50) to win the game as time expired!! What a feeling that must have been by him. A 49 yd field goal!!!! In high school, that is amazing. You come off as you want everyone to fail Gregg. Why don't you admit that you are the Detroit Media Insider, and all those things that you said about Jeff and his show on there? And you expect him to have anything nice to say? Coward? You are the fucking coward Gregg. You have a website that makes you anonymous dude (well you thought you were) and when you reject this comment, that makes you more of a coward. Why don't you go to http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.nicolehenson.com and look for yourself what other sited are on that I.P. address? Oh yeah that's right "the Detroit media insider site" and when you make comments like this on your insider site, who can blame Jeff?
Stay tuned. The Insider isn’t a fan of D & D. While they sound like nice enough fellows, the show was lame and formulated. The Insider has it on good authority that the new consultant Tom Bigby formerly of WIP in Philadelphia listened to the show and recommended strongly that WKRK ditch the morning duo and pursue an edgier, less “boring” morning show.

I think this is it for D & D in Detroit. Where else would they work? WRIF? Doubtful. The show is simply to simple. The asking questions of the audience is very small market, they design the show to get multitudes of calls rather than entertainment value. D & D will end up on an AM station in a medium market. They should have taken whatever CBS was offering.

And what just a week or so later you were kissing his ass on this site asking him for a interview. You are the fucking coward Gregg. I liked you on your show, and I think it was entertaining, but dude your always wishing failure upon everyone in Detroit radio is kind of sad man. And you said also that you had more friends than Jeff in radio... Well I guess he hasn't burned as many bridges as you have... Because he can actually still work in Detroit radio...unlike you

Have D&D found a new home?

Well on tuesday, WCSX let JJ & Lynne go. So what does that mean for us Deminski and Doyle fans???? It has been widely reported that JJ thought that was the reason they were let go. To move in D&D. Even though Greater Media is denying it, we all know what is going on. The big question is if Mike in the Morning currently on WRIF will be moved to WCSX and then having D&D on the WRIF. I have never had 94.7 on my presets, but if they announce this, it will be my #1 preset. I have listened to Sirius radio for most of the time they have been off the air. With an occasional listen to Mike. The one thing I know for certain is. DEMINSKI AND DOYLE WILL BE BACK IN JANUARY OF '09!! I don't really care what station they are on. Hell if it was Hip Hop & R&B I would still listen. (maybe they could bring back milky white toast) But I wanna hear from all of you, are you ready for D&D and does it matter what station they go to?

We had him on to show what certain views people have, and to show that there are people with this much hatred. I am not bashing the guy I would like to point this out. I just have a total opposite opinion of what he believes. I am already getting the backlash from this interview, and would like to apologize for anything that was offensive to the listeners. I wanna thank him for joining the show. For those that are wondering, I started a new job last week after working with my previous company for over 7 years!! Changing jobs is a scary situation, ecspecially in this economy. I had a sure job with my past employer, and comfortability with having a secure job. The boss was ok, but what really sucked was that I hadn't gotten a raise in over 5 years!!! yes that is right, 5 freaking years. I finally gave up, and realized that it was a go nowhere job, and had to move on. I now have a great boss, he is a friend of mine, but I do not expect any favors given. I work my ass off for him, and try my damness to seperate the friendship, and just look at him as my boss. I thank him for the opportunity, to expand my knowledge in my field.

I have been getting a lot of messages regarding the return of Deminski and Doyle, what station is the most common question. The truth is everyone, I know as much as you do. I have said hi to him a few times, and have had short 3-5 minute conversations with him, but I respect the fact that he can not say where, and when they are going to a new station. I have tried to ask if he would come on our show to announce where he is going when he can, and he said he would think about that. I don't expect to get that exclusive in any way, but what the hell I am trying. D&D got me through some rough times in my life, and I even wrote a hand written letter when they were leaving to share what was going on in my life at the time they first arrived in Detroit, and how the show got me through some of that. I don't want to get into that on here. I am awaiting there return as much as you guys are. I want to thank all of you who have taken the time to check out this blog, and me and mini me's show.

Youth in revolt

Recently there was a movie filmed here in Michigan called Youth in revolt It stars Michael Cera, and includes Ray Liotta, Steve Buschemi, Justin Long, Portia Doubleday. I got a chance to be a part of it by working security for this film. It was cool just to see Michael Cera, and others just walking around, and sitting and eating with these actors. Living in Michigan, not too much of this stuff ever happens here. I took some pictures of the set, and want to share these with all of you.

Why is it that message boards always bring out the worst in people? Why is it that people think it is funny to post things about other peoples kids, families, lives? In the different boards that I have been on, and just gazed through and lurked, there is one common thing to all of them. You can go on there, anonymously, and just say whatever you want. I have seen personal threats, to young kids. I have seen people saying they wanted to rape people, and they just get away with it. What I have realized in my time going on these things is that, the more you respond to them, the more vicious they get. I only post on one board anymore, and that is the buzzboard there have been others that I have just altogether quit going to. I don't see the fun of being so hateful towards somebody, and the times I have been hateful, I never once was anonymous, and I would say the same things to their face. I have never wished anyone any harm, ecspecially a child. It is not funny, nor is it legal. Somehow there should be a way to find out who these assholes are, and drag them out in front of everybody to get the wrath they deserve. I am speaking in general terms here, not neccessarily me. Like I have seen Gregg Henson's family talked about, even though, I said some things, they were never to harm anyone. But that is my rant on message boards

The contreversy of the freak talent competition D&D

Here is the video of Shane the snorter, or now bettter known as Shane from pwned radio on 97.1 this is from the halloween show in 2005 live from Snookers in Southgate. This is the competion that mini me was also in and I have displayed the 2 videos down below. It was as clear as day in person that Shane did NOT snort the worm through his nose, he clearly covers his face, and slips the worm in his mouth, and it never enters through his nose. I am sorry Shane, I like ya dude, but truth is truth. Why not admit it now? You have the T.V. already :) Don "mini-me" came in 2nd in this competition, I added his performance as well.

As you can tell by the lack of posts it has been a crazy, busy summer for me. I have been working some hours, and when I am not working I am spending it with my daughter swimming or at the bar. Summer is a great time in Michigan, the girls practically wear nothing, and the beer taste so much better. Wanted to update some people on a few things. I got the opportunity to meet some people from Blogtalkradio recently, like yoadrian, and Sarah, and Walled Lake Joe. We all met up at BWW in Novi, and to my surprise YO showed up, and is not in a wheelchair like we all were predicting. He is a cool son of a bitch, and would love to get drunk with that dude more often. Sarah is an attention whore, but if she went on meds she could be a cool chick as well. You all know WLJ from the past meeting we had at Comerica park. He recently made some business cards for me and I want to thank him for that. You can see what the cards look like at the top of this page.

Mornings on Detroit radio sucks!!!!

This morning I took a break from Howard Stern just to listen what was on the air in the morning in Detroit, Boy was that a mistake. I turned on Gay Towers and Bill on 97.1, and what do I hear? Bill trying to do an impression of Ted Nugent!! For one is that guy even relevant anymore in Detroit? Not to mention the impression is horrible. Then Jay laughed, and then Sara got two words in and was cut off. Then I said what the hell I turned on Dick Purtan on 104.3, a Detroit legend, a guy I have much respect for. That is why I will just be nice by saying you are way behind the times Dick, it is time to retire bud, you just don't have it anymore. I then turned on Drewless and Mike on 101.1 WRIF. Mike was talking gossip like a 13 year old girl and giggling with whoever was in the room. I swear I had to check the channel to make sure I wasn't listening to WNIC. Then I turned it on 96.3 and they played 3 songs in a row, and I turned it off. Morning shows should be talk IMO. Too much music doesn't do it for me. I even turned on Steve Harvey, and unless you are some jive turkey from the 70's you don't understand that guy. To be fair I didn't check out 760, 105.1 (I don't need to listen to that to know it sucks) or 94.7.

I wonder how Detroit will dig out this hole of mediocre radio in the morning, and don't even get me started on pm drive time. When Valenti and Foster are #1 you know that there is not much out there. Mitch Albom can choke on a dick by the way.

I would love to see a few of the local newscasters have a radio show, like, Steve Wilson, Huel Perkins, Jason Carr, and Ron Savage. I guess that radio will not recover until January '09 for me. Sirius is my savior until then. I think that Drew Lane will pop up somewhere very soon!! I read this online at www.michiguide.com and I think this would be the way to get people excited about Detroit radio again. IMO I think there is some truth to this as well. So here is what Mike Austerman said:

I'm also going to be real interested to see if Lane shows up locally doing an afternoon talk program. With Deminski and Doyle also being on the sidelines for now, that's a ton of compelling talk talent that would like to be on the air during similar timeslots on stations that right now probably offer a completely different format. If someone could find a morning show that could successfully get after WRIF's morning audience and figure out a way to get Lane along with Deminski and Doyle in the lineup, you'd have a very compelling competitor for male listeners. And a very interesting war for listeners between WRIF, WXYT, WDFN, and any newcomer to the party

Hatebreed show last night!!

Last night I went to the live DVD shoot for Hatebreed at Harpo's what a kick ass great show. There is nothing like true metal in a small venue, I was down in the pit, and whoever has been there knows that there is nothing like a Harpo's pit around here. They were shooting for their live DVD supremacy. The show opened up with 2 local bands, and then God Forbid, who tore the stage up. I have been to a lot of great concerts, Pantera, White Zombie, Metallica, and many more. But all of those were in huge venues. The whole pit was insane from the opening band at 6:30 until Hatebreed ended at almost midnight. After waking up today, I realized that I am way too old to be moshing in the pit, my neck is so stiff, my body aches, but it was well worth it. I can't wait to see the DVD to see me kicking everyones ass in the pit, only fell once from some asshole that hit me in the back. Here are pictures I took while taking a little break. ENJOY!!!

As I sat and watched Kym Worthy reading the statement today it gave me hope that this city isn't as naive as I thought it was. Even 95% of the people that I seen interviewed today from the CITY of Detroit agreed that this guy needs to just give it up. Now that all these lies have came out, even if he isn't convicted on any of the 8 felony counts that he is charged with. Fox 2 detroit has the story. I am apalled that it took so long to do the obvious, but let's all hope in the metro Detroit are that the wait will be worth it. I commend Kym Worthy for having the guts to tell this thug that we will not stand for lies, and just plain negligence of a very important job. We don't want you running the most important city in this state you thug!!! Now I hope you get to join all your boys in a pound me in the ass prison where you belong. Reading this article is giving me mixed messages, because during the whole BS that happened with 97.1 Mike Novak was always the one that was speaking the truth. Turning a staple radio station like WCSX into a talker just doesn't make sense to me. In a selfish way I hope this article would be true!!! I think it would be succesful with Drew Lane mornings, and D&D afternoons, or Vice versa. But this is the article from the Detroit Free Press March 11th.

D&D, Greater Media talk -- about what?

This much we know: A representative for Jeff Deminski and Bill Doyle -- formerly of 97.1 FM -- has spoken with radio chain Greater Media about job opportunities.

But was it about replacing morning duo Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison at Greater Media-owned WCSX-FM (94.7)? Or was it about taking a job at one of Greater Media's East Coast properties?

Depends on who you talk to.

D&D's attorney, Mike Novak, said he discussed WCSX and D&D with Greater Media. But Detroit Greater Media boss Tom Bender counters: "The conversations with D&D on behalf of Greater Media that I am aware of concerned one of our other stations in another market. I am still in charge of Detroit and have spoken to neither Novak nor D&D about WCSX."

If you love a conspiracy theory, chew on this: Woodison's and Johnson's pacts expire in March. D&D can't work in Detroit until January because of a non-compete clause. WCSX's classic rock format has been hurt by several other stations that nibble on the core music 'CSX plays. Might a format switch to talk -- no more expensive royalty payments to BMI and ASCAP! -- in a move that could include adding current WRIF-FM (101.1) talk absentee Drew Lane, be in the works for the new year? Then again, WCSX is one of Detroit's more stable performers over the last 20 years -- and why risk losing that in today's fickle radio world?

So on Tuesday the ratings came out for the first phase Nov,Dec,Jan. and what do you know! the motor shitty mornings show will Bill and Jay 'the flame' Towers went from a 3.6 to a 1.8 in the most prime demographic of 25-54. And that included 1 month of live D&D shows! Maybe alienating all of Deminski and Doyle fans was not the best idea after all. I understand that there is now a new regime with Deb Kenyon, but if this show isn't off the air before April 1st, they are making a huge mistake IMO. The MCM show has to be the most annoying show I Have heard in years (ED TYLL, Steve Dahl) the topics that include Detroits best hamburger, Best strip clubs! Those were reported on Gregg Henson's blog talk radio show, I didn't listen to those topics personally, I would rather cut my nutsac and pour lemon juice on it. If you have one smart bone in your body Bill you would rid yourself of this retard. and go off on your own after you two get shit canned. I wish Bill the best, but with all the latest shit I Have heard, he is not the same Bill that first started at WKRK. He has developed an ego larger than my gut, and his interns hate him. Yes, I do still talk to people that work at 97.1 I hate that Bill has been turned into this holier than thou attitude. It is so cute to see you two on FOX 2 together. Last week Kevin Murphy was moved to Riverside, Ca. to oversee (fire everyone) the stations Out there, and this has to be the best news I have heard in months. This guy is a complete ASSHOLE! I had a few conversations with this guy personally via phone, and I do not have one good thing to say about him. He was rude, and did not give 2 shits what us people in Detroit thought, as long as he made his budget. Just ask Art Regner of WXYT, Tom and Mindy of WOMC, Deminski and Doyle, Bob Bauer of 97.1 and many, many more behind the scenes! He is the disgrace that radio has to rid themselves of, or you will see many more people moving to internet, satellite, and Ipod for radio. Hell it is already happening. Do not kid yourself to think that what is known as terrestial radio aren't shaking in their boots after Howard left so did most of the revenue. Why do you think the Sirius/XM merger has not gone through? Now I don't claim to know Deb Kenyon, the person that has taken over for Kevin, but in reality, could it honestly be any worse? I was reading the article in the Oakland Press today called "On the radio" a weekly article in the Arts section, you can read it at www.michiguide.com and you know when Art Vuolo has very few nice words to say, you are not well respected in the radio world. The mayor of Detroit keeps on the path that he started when he was first elected into office. Nothing has changed with mayor kwame Kilpatrick he has done nothing but lie to the people of Detroit and anyone in the state of Michigan that listens to the radio or watches the local news. With in the last year or so the city of Detroit has been in national head lines and not for anything positive. The most recent problem being the whistle blower trial in Detroit. Two police officers from Detroit were fired for god knows what but they won there case against the city costing the city millions upon millions. After the case was over text messages between the mayor and his chief of staff that reveled that there was a chance that he might have lied under oath. This city has nothing but supported the mayor problem after problem and if I lived in the city of Detroit I would finally say enough is enough and do what ever I could to get this piece of shit Kwame Kilpatrick out of office. His done nothing but bring down a city that is already in the gutter and now it’s bring national attention and hurting the city that much more all the money that our local casinos have put into Detroit its making people not want to come to Detroit and visit and see the sites. The people of Detroit need to ball up and tell the mayor to pack his shit and get the fuck out of here. If the people of Detroit reelect this piece of garbage they deserve what they get. I hope that it doesn’t come to the citizens of Detroit because honestly I don’t trust them they have had one good mayor in twenty years and it was not the piece of shit Coleman Young or kwame Kilpatrick. I hope the prosecutor finds evidence that he did fuck up and throws his sorry ass in jail.

I received a few emails saying that he referred to me as a "fat pig" on his show for me saying that Michelle was sick of him already. I didn't listen to to the show live, but just went back and archived the show. I did hear him talk about it, and I want to clear some shit up.

I like Gregg, and when he was here I listened on a daily basis, his show was very entertaining. I received a message from someone on a message board saying Michelle was sick of you Gregg, probably the same guy that messaged you saying that when she didn't show up that day. To this day I like Gregg. I talked with him on the phone for a good 30 minutes a couple weeks back, and I apologized for being an asshole about the phone number on the buzzboard.(I didn't give it out or anything) He helped me set up with blog talk radio, and gave me some tips on some shit to get me going with uploads, and things of that nature. If I was awake at 1pm to listen to his show live everyday I would. The guy doesn't deserve the shit that he gets, and I realize that me making those posts of Gregg Henson exposed was an asshole move on my part. But I consider Jeff Deminski a friend, and when I seen that Gregg was (maybe) the Detroit media insider, I felt that I had to point it out that he said he liked Jeff in one post, then ripped him in another. I wanna make it clear that I did that on my own, Jeff did not have nothing to do with it. I just felt as a friend, that I was defending for Jeff.

I realize that I am just a flea compared to Gregg Henson, He has accomplished a lot in radio, at least he had the balls to persue it. (unlike me)

So I just wanted to make this post, for what it is worth, I WILL NO LONGER EVER SAY 1 BAD WORD ABOUT GREGG HENSON. So any of you fuckers that messsage me with Gregg Henson information, I will be deleting it. I am done with it, I like Gregg, and always have. I guess I stepped over the boundaries as a fan.

I have watched every episode since this show has started religously. Saying that, this season was my most anticipated after the way last season ended with Jack and Kate meeting up at the airport. After an 8 month wait this season is full of NEW mysteries, even though they have left many of past questions unanswered. Who was in the cabin when Hurley looked in? What I am getting out of that is it was Locke. Ben cant hear or see Jacob, Locke cant see, but hear Jacob. And Hurley can see Jacob. What does all that mean? What was up with the polar bear bones, and the dharma insignia that was dug up? I am taking that was a flash back? All these questions are what keep me watching this show, and I hope it is all worth the wait in the end. I Hope all these writers have some scripts ready when this strike is over. Only six more episodes, and I hope it is not another 8 months until we get to see more episodes.

Tonight I did a little test show to check out audio, and learn how to run the switchboard. I played a few songs, and studdered my way through for 15 minutes. Everything came out good, and I am ready to get the show rollin'. The show is scheduled on Feb. 17th at 6pm. Leave some comments to let me know what interest everyone the most. I am goin to try and suffer through the Jay and Bill show for a few days to see why everybody hates this show. I Have not listened to 97.1 since the departure of D&D. I am about to go fucking crazy with all this snow. I can't remember a winter that we have had so many huge snow storms in one year. With the economy being as bad as it is, and all the corruption that has been going on in this state, I am surprised that people actually still stay here. This morning when I got off work the roads were still shitty, On my way into work tonight it was twice as bad. Enough with the damn snow!!!! Then I hear that it is supposed to snow all weekend now too, I guess I know what I am planning. Looks like I will pull the sleds out, and take my daughter to have some fun.

Working in radio

Ever since the age of 15 I have wanted to work in radio, I use to call up radio people and just talk to them on overnights. A lot of them were real cool to me. One in particular was Renee Vitale who use to work at 103.1 out of Lapeer, now she works for 96.3, and I think still teaches at Specs Howard. I just always had an obsession with it. I was lucky enough that Deminski and Doyle was cool enough to let me be a part of the show. It is surprising that Jeff didnt put a restraining order on me, as I use to call his office phone on a daily basis using my lispy homo voice just trying to have fun on his voicemail. Then two months or so into me doing the gay voice on the voicemail he started picking the phone up and asking what my problem was (not in an angry way) I then started talking to him in a normal voice, and he was always easy going and joked with me. I first met Jeff at the 1st auto show they did, and basically just asked him why he hated the word booger? The 1st contest I ever won was the biggest beer belly contest at Duggans on St Pattys day. I then won two tickets to Ozzfest with Rudx and the old producer Lee. Rudy was cool enough to let me come in and do static radio with him and that was one of the coolest things I Have ever done. my point is that I really wanted to pursue a radio career, and after all the bullshit I Have seen go on at CBS and now with Henson, I am so glad that I did not. I am still going to have my fun by doing a podcast show very soon.

The reason I hate catholics

Catholicism what a joke! As a lot of you know I do security for special occasions to make some extra cash, I do a ton of beer tents, and festivals during the summer. I know the catholic rant is old and tired, but what I witness at these events is just laughable to call yourself a religion. I am doing an event tonight at a catholic church, and I know what is going to happen. I think it is funny that you can drag kegs, and have a gambling room INSIDE a church. At these events during the summer they are opened up to the public to raise money for the churches, or as I see to pay off lawyer fees of the little boy ass rapings that go on. Religion is not about faith, all they want it for is money, money, money! Do you honestly think that your 10 or 20% that they ask of your paycheck actually goes to funding mission trips, and help to people in need? It is a bunch of bullshit. Not only do the people running these events get drunk, we continuously are breaking up fights, and kicking people out for getting touchy feely to people that dont want to be touched. Yeah great religion you have there. drinking,gambling,molestation, bribery, rape, fighting, homosexual acts, but hey no condoms, or abortion guess that evens everything out. What a fucking joke. I myself believe in God, but I am not giving 20% of my paycheck, fuck that.
